Garrett Model R.R. Club

The HO scale model railroad layout occupies approximately 30 by 60 feet of the basement of the Garrett Historical Society Museum. The layout has about 7 scale miles of track, which typically takes 20 minutes for a train to complete a run. The layout is DCC and members are welcome to run their equipment. It is loosely modeled after the B&O. Members meet on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM to work on the layout, operate trains, and discuss model railroading and railfanning.

Many club members are CSX employees. The main line (former B&O Cumberland MD to Chicago main) is right outside and sees 60 to 80 trains a day. The club parking area is adjacent to the Garrett Yard and Division Point. You can have a double treat of running a model train and railfaning at the same time. Obviously, do NOT trespass on railroad property; there is plenty to see from your car.
